Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients:
1 LB Shaved Beef or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 Tbs Olive Oil
1 LB Broccoli, florets
1 cup White Basmati Rice or Jasmin
Sauce:
½ cup Soy Sauce
1 Tsp Ginger
½ cup Hot Water
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
3 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 Tbs Corn Starch
2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
pinch black pepper
Instructions:
Sauce: In a small bowl or measuring cup, stir the hot water and brown sugar until dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well, and set aside.
Meat: In a large pan over medium-high heat, add a splash of sesame oil and sear the shaved beef for 1–2 minutes. Pour in most of the sauce, reserving a little.
Greens: Add the broccoli, cover, and cook on medium-high for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should bubble and coat the broccoli as it cooks.
Serve: Spoon over hot rice and drizzle with the reserved sauce.
Special Note
Cornstarch adds a glossy finish to the sauce but isn’t essential.
Sesame oil enhances the flavor, but any cooking oil will work.
