Ingredients:
1 LB Shaved Beef or flank steak, thinly sliced
1-2 Tbs Sesami Oil
1 LB Broccoli, florets
1 cup Jasmin Rice or White Basmati Rice
1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds, optional
Sauce:
1/3 cup Soy Sauce
1 Tsp Ginger
1/3 cup Hot Water
3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
3 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Corn Starch
2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
pinch black pepper
Instructions:
Sauce: In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the hot water and brown sugar until dissolved. Add the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and set aside.
Cook the Beef & Broccoli: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of sesame oil. Sear the shaved beef until browned and cooked through, about 2–6 minutes depending on the thickness of the slices. Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil. Add the broccoli, cover, and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 5–10 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the sauce has thickened.
Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli over hot rice and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the pan. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
Special Note
Cornstarch gives the sauce a thicker consistency and glossy finish, but it can be omitted if preferred.
Add extra vegetables such as snap peas, bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, or onions for added flavor, texture, and nutrition.
