Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients:

  • 1 LB Shaved Beef or flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil

  • 1 LB Broccoli, florets

  • 1 cup White Basmati Rice or Jasmin

Sauce:

  • ½ cup Soy Sauce

  • 1 Tsp Ginger

  • ½ cup Hot Water

  • 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 Tbs Corn Starch

  • 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil

  • pinch black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Sauce: In a small bowl or measuring cup, stir the hot water and brown sugar until dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well, and set aside.

    Meat: In a large pan over medium-high heat, add a splash of sesame oil and sear the shaved beef for 1–2 minutes. Pour in most of the sauce, reserving a little.

    Greens: Add the broccoli, cover, and cook on medium-high for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should bubble and coat the broccoli as it cooks.

    Serve: Spoon over hot rice and drizzle with the reserved sauce.

Special Note

  • Cornstarch adds a glossy finish to the sauce but isn’t essential.

  • Sesame oil enhances the flavor, but any cooking oil will work.
